History

The first meeting of the Constituent Assembly for this was held in Manama Municipality Hall on January 28, 1970, which consisted of 24 founding members selected from the merchants business leaders and state officials.

This association was founded and registered with the civil competent government agencies and issued patent incorporation of His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Salman Al Khalifa, Prince of the country, may God rest his soul, dated 29 June 1970. The Society has been recognized by the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) and The International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC)  on September 14, 1972 and became the Bahrain Red Crescent Society is the No. 116 member in the international community.
